Dr. Geisa is considered one of the influential professionals in Public Health in Brazil. Her research of focus was on rare diseases. Since her early career as a nurse she had tremendous research collaboration on genetic studies. Her work has led to her appointment to represent the Brazilian Nursing Society in Genetics and Genomics as an advisor.
Then, in 2020, she received the honor as Lady Commander of the Brazilian Chamber of Culture – Cruz Mérito da Saúde.
Dr. Geisa earned a PhD in Public Health Faculty of Medicine, and dual doctorate from the University of Quebec Canada.
